Director of Operational Logistics

Captain Colleen Pak


Captain Colleen Pak assumed the duties of the Director of Operational Logistics Senior Reserve Officer in January 2016.

After graduating from the Coast Guard Academy in 1992, she reported aboard the UCGC NORTHLAND as a student engineer and later served as the Damage Control Assistant.  She then attended graduate school at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and earned a Master of Science Degree in Civil Engineering.  Afterwards, she was assigned to the Coast Guard Facilities Design & Construction Center (FDCC) in Norfolk, VA where she assisted with the relocation of the Atlantic Area Command from Governor’s Island, NY to Portsmouth, VA and was the project manager for the construction of Coast Guard Station Pascagoula, MS and the Station Grand Isle, LA, Unaccompanied Personnel Housing (UPH) and Family Housing Units.  Her last active duty tour was as the Fifth District Civil Engineering Coordinator and the Integrated Support Command Portsmouth Repair Team leader where she served from 1999 to 2003.

In 2004, CAPT Pak’s first reserve assignment was at the Coast Guard Maintenance and Logistics Command Atlantic Shore division (MLCA(s)) where she provided civil engineering support and assisted with the development of the shore facility inventory reclassification system and Targeted Asset Review & Inventory Validation (TARIV) initiative.  Afterwards she transferred to the Coast Guard Atlantic Area Plans and Exercises Division where she supported the development and execution of hurricane exercises as well as Frontier Sentinel 2009. In 2012 she returned to active duty at the FDCC as the project execution lead for the $213M Hurricane Sandy Supplemental which included 16 infrastructure projects to restore critical infrastructure in D1, D5 and D9.  In October 2015, she was released from active duty and transferred to the Director of Operational Logistics (DOL) as a member of the Logistics Support Element (LSE). 

CAPT Pak’s personal awards include two Coast Guard Commendation Medals and two Coast Guard Achievement Medals.  She is registered as a professional engineer in the state of Virginia where she resides with her husband, Ki, and three children.
